@gynecologistcobra: The "blaming other phones" was essentially pointing out that this is a reality of cellular telephony and it's silly to say Apple made a blunder by adhering to the laws of physics.

@Hand_O_Death: Even if you double the number the result is miniscule. Everyone I know with the phone loves it and has no complaints.

@Allicks: Brazen stupidity tends to rub me the wrong way, yes.

@Drummertist: That's just it. The problem only affects a miniscule percentage of people. If they need a bumper they can get a bumper. Why does the entire phone have to be redesigned to suit them when they can spend $30 (now free) and everyone else can have a great phone.

@DangerousLiberal: This is exactly the opposite of my experience. I had Sprint when I lived in Illinois and it was ok. Anywhere else I went Sprint was awful. Verizon has pretty good coverage in DC, but terrible terrible terrible coverage in Florida which is the other place I go to. T-Mobile has had good signal in just

@Drummertist: If the antenna is internal you lose the improved signal and make the phone bigger. That's a silly tradeoff to accommodate a tiny fraction of users, especially when that tiny fraction can solve the issue by moving their pinky finger a centimeter or buying a case. That was the easiest and most practical

@Allicks: Did you really just ask me "If it were true of all phones why did Apple point out that it was true of all phones?" Did you even listen to yourself before typing that?

@gynecologistcobra: Saying "Our phone is the best" is only a bash on other phones if they're too insecure to acknowledge where they stand.

@Snafu77: The majority of the junk in the gyre isn't actually noticeable trash. It was always shoddy, sensationalist reporting to call it an "island." There are patches where the garbage collects, and it would be comparatively easy to scoop most of that up.

@Allicks: The advice is basically true for all phones. You'll get better reception if you use a headset that lets you not hold your phone in your hand.

@schezar5: How is it "bad faith" to point out the consequences of the laws of physics?

@OreoExplosion: Or because certain sites didn't have an axe to grind before?

@YouISee: NHK is all on iPhones, for one.

@Allicks: But it has more bars to begin with so really it's a wash.

@Drummertist: How is it a bad move if it improve signal in 99% of cases?

@mecha2142: "Sure, maybe the bars dropped on the Blackberry. But do you hear about blackberry owners dropping calls? "

@raycrios: Yes. YESSS! Let the hate flow through you. Strike me down with all your anger.
