My parents did the same! I remember I once, while grounded, I stayed hom sick from school just so I could read. When my dad came home unexpectedly in the middle of the day and caught me with a non-schoolwork book, I was in HUUUUUGE trouble. Dads: sometimes they build you ladders, sometimes they lock your books in the

I think it's awesome!

When my late husband and I once moved from half a house into a studio apartment, I got rid of 15 boxes of books. I have regretted it ever since ... it was almost twelve years ago, now.

I always wanted a bunk bed! But I ain't complaining either.

My best "toy" was my little sister. I could get her to do ANYTHING.

Mine were books. I had a LOT of books. My parents built me a set of shelves that ran along the very top of the walls in my bedroom, and then my father built me a ladder. I spent so much time at the top of that ladder; perusing, reading, and just enjoying the view from 9 feet up in the air. It was amazing.

Well, they don't HAVE to, but sometimes they like to, when they think no one is looking.

I actually used to just wear bow ties. I had some really crazy ones that had belonged to my dad in the '70s, I wore the HELL out of them, and it was awesome.

This is the silliest frog I have ever seen! And also, other pictures prove it is VASTLY GRUMPY. What's not to love?

Well, now all I want out of today is to watch "The Station Agent."

A weird sense of satisfaction.

Turn. Your. Damn. Phone!

Deal! I'll bring snacks.

Excuse me. I need to take a quick trip to Nashville to steal a baby tapir.

I don't carry a purse, really. I believe in pockets! Today in my pockets:

I wonder what's happening in their brains when they do this.

I have actually done this. Ok, I haven't made a full sweater, but I did spin some Samoyed fur into yarn and knit it into a little lace sampler. It was hairy, but had a nice bloom and was very soft. Weirdly, one of my mother's cats "adopted" that little square and would carry it around with her and groom it.
