I'm also wondering why there's no discussion on the play of the Cowboys' offensive line on the final drive, there were fairly obvious holds on many of the key plays.

This is always a hilarious argument to me because it's so ridiculous. "The team should score SO many points that any injustice enacted against them becomes null and void! They should have enough insurance points to let referees make as many mistakes as they possibly can, instead of scoring enough points to win an

I hate this kind of justification. How well or poorly the Lions play is completely independent from how the referees call the game. The Lions can play a horrid game, and only score 3 points....however, if they outplay their opponent (however badly the Lions played), they deserve to win. And assuming they outplay

which may have been easier if the refs didn't take a fg off the board with the non pi call

This type of argument drives me nuts. Yes the Lions played like shit in the second half. Yes they could have scored more, or not missed 8,000 tackles, or stopped Dallas on 4th down. All that is true but it does not excuse poor calls (or non calls). And it does not mean that in order to win the Lions should have to

Perhaps they would have had the refs not cost them a first down and at least 30 yards of uncalled penalties on a single play.

They might have done that if...you know...CALLED PASS INTERFERENCE.

Excellent. Now can they point out the apparently new rule that says it's OK for Dez Bryant to wander onto the field and debate these sorts of things?

I'll bitch less about non-calls, since the officials can't watch every single player for every single second of a play. This one, man, to make the call, announce the call, to have analysts agree it was the right call, and then pick up the fucking flag is something else.

That flag AND Dez running on the field, (WITH HIS HELMET OFF) to argue the call, puts the ball inside the 15 yard line. Can you imagine what would have happened if Suh would have ran onto the field to argue a call??? My God, the Pope would have been summoned. A horrible call and if the Lions put up 6 on that drive;

Actually, when the ref does not flag Bryant and give Detroit a first down at the 31, the ref is why you lost.

I know, right? The tuck rule was called correctly at the time.

that story about the head of officials partying with the cowboys is gonna become huge now. I really can't believe they overturned the call and didn't call dez for running onto the field w/o a helmet and screaming at the official for the call. I've been a lions fan all my life and its just tragic to see these calls go

It's not like the head of NFL officials was seen on the Cowboy's Party bus this past August.

let's make sure not to forget this either

Man, Detroit hasn't been this screwed since just now...

Never mind this...where's the penalty on Bryant for coming onto the field, sans helmet, to argue with the refs?

Why wasn't Dez flagged for going on the field and arguing with no helmet on?
