Not just the closed environment, but many of these cruises seem to be widows/widowers intent on being a vector for herpes. I know this because my then-86 year old grandpa called up then-17 year old me from a cruise at 1 am to ask about dental dams.

Not only that, but in rural America (where I’m from, where I’m surrounded by fuckwit Republicans), there are no other schools TO choose!

A word of caution re river cruises. River levels in Europe can be very unpredictable. If either too high or too low, you will be taken off the boat and shuttled to your next stop on a charter bus. It happens quite often but it’s not widely publicized.
