This is probably right, even the materiality - saturated color, mild specular highlights - looks like the ones in render shader demos.
The HVH framing really does the movie a disservice. This seems like a strange choice for HVH, not least because it actually played in theaters this year. But also, it’s quite good, and much more ambitious than the usual fare. One of my favorites of the year, in fact; I’m much more likely to rewatch it than High Life or Ad Astra.
