“...aren’t the biggest fans of Martin Scorsese. The director has been nominated 16 times...”
Scorsese’s epic was undoubtedly one of the best films of the year.
This is a reductive take. While I loved Killers and didn’t find the length burdensome, it’s a bad faith take to say that people who can’t get on board are lowbrow idiots (which is what I interpret your comment to be saying).
Three and a half hours is difficult. Many people don’t have that in their day to give all at…
I side-eye women and men who always need to bring their children into a conversation whose topic makes them feel vulnerable. Reminds me of the story of a drug dealer who picked up his toddler as a shield right before the cops shot him. “I was pregnant and so terrified!”
I curse them
100% agree on feeling like there’s some mythological parallel that I’m missing! Especially with the heavy focus on Asher’s Judaism in this episode. There were some think pieces about how The Rehearsal should be viewed through that lens, and Judaism is a big theme in Benny Safdie’s work as well.
I’m aware what the term ‘national treasure’ refers to - my point is that Katt Williams is definitely not it. As you say, I would think that term would apply to someone like Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Denzel, maybe Taylor Swift on the younger side. Not a moderately successful medium-profile comedian.
“masterful 2004 series” ...
As a Robert J. Sawyer fan, I pick Flashforward.
I think BSG is a bit emptied out as a franchise. You can’t do much better than the best episodes of the 2005 series, nor much worse than the worst episodes of the same series (or Galactica 1980).
That “national treasure” bit got me, I don’t know if that was the case when he was fist-fighting middle school students or missing shows because he was being arrested for the 100th time (having experienced one of his no-shows myself). This interview gave us a gloriously entertaining week without a doubt and I’m all…
I don’t quite understand the juxtaposition, either. Like...Katt got into some SHIT, back in the day.
Places like this essentially equate ‘funny’ to things I agree with. They’re staffed by people who go to watch comics that get ‘laughs’ of acknowledgement rather than genuine laughs of mirth.
Was this written by Katt Williams? Since when has B-list (at best) comedian Katt Williams been considered this national treasure of comedy?
Kind of funny that this article was placed adjacent to the Dave Chappelle article on the main page. Spent 5 minutes reading about how Chappelle has become a repetitive transphobic hack (which, ok, fair enough), then slid over here to read about how Katt Williams is a “national treasure” for giving an interview in…
I am very, very progressive, but maybe the Republicans have it right. Maybe men should just hire and work around other men and not hire women.
Do you generally research random internet commentators post history, or are you just pulling that out of your ass?
And after the complete misses that were Love & Thunder, Eternals, Secret Invasion, Moon Knight (my god I tried my best to pretend I enjoyed that), She-Hulk (when are we going to admit that that shit just was not funny, like, at all?)
That’s absolute nonsense.
There’s nothing fishy, and you saying there is bad behaviour, in that you’re encouraging conspiratorial nonsense thinking.
