'borderline misogynist "hysterical hyperventilating woman" schtick' - are you serious? So a woman can't be hysterical and panicking when potentially MAROONED IN SPACE FOR EVER?
Agreed, I liked the simplicity, including the fairly thin characters. I felt like I got all I needed to sympathise, and, I don't know, there's something weirdly universal about how scary/sublime anyone would feel in that situation, I think it worked to the film's advantage that it didn't try and make the character too…
I'm not a fan of Who, but heard about this episode being good and watched it with barely any prior knowledge of the franchise, having never seen a full episode before. Loved it. Though I was a fan of Mulligan, which may have also contributed.
I think I quite like a finale to not only wrap things up, but also offer an element of surprise. It shouldn't be TOO last minute, and tie into the series and it's themes but it should be it's own entity, rather than just a series of pay-offs and knot-tying. This is why I wasn't massively keen on FNL's finale. It just…
Yes actually. I'm not quite sure whether season 7 was as good as season 1, but if you're gonna split WW into 1-4 and 5-7 (ie, Sorkin and Post-Sorkin) then they're definitely the best of the respective parts. 7 managed to find a slightly batter balance between WW stories and campaign ones, handled the Spencer situation…
Indeed. I just wait for the whole thing and download in the meantime.
Like this:
God these are all so much cheaper in the UK. Boxsets for The Wire, Sopranos, West Wing, The Shield can frequently be bought for between £30-50 (for the DVDs, obviously). The complete BSG Blu-ray recently was down to £35 as well. Don't think we'll be so lucky with BB though.
Downton Abbey got 99% on metacritic?
But since they always come out, if you're the type who prefers these sets to individual ones, wouldn't it make sense to NOT buy the individual sets and wait for this? That's what I do, no point in buying twice. Downloads are fine until then.
Oh, ya got me! I'm an effeminate male, but at least I'm not a murderous drug lord! Or, wait, which is worse for you again?
He'll always be Nathan from Queer as Folk (UK) to me. If I watch this it might destroy my lusty gay teenage memories.
Hmm, I don't know, points in the last few season have had about 50 subplots almost all of which were boring and moved so slowly because we only got about 2 minutes each episode to 'check in' on them. The newer season was a bit better though, and yeah, WAY better than season 8 of Dexter.
Good good. Although I think I may have enjoyed this last season more than the previous two… having only ten episodes really helped, it felt a bit more focused (emphasis on 'a bit') with less irritating storylines and some characters who actually died.
Skyler 'finally standing by her man'? Ah I see, that's all she's needed to do to stop her being annoying.
Agreed. Lumen's arc was a compelling one, and I liked her relationship with Dexter, shame she's only been mentioned, what, once since she left. I know I found her more interesting than Jimmy Smits in season 3 and I preferred it to that season. (So I guess it'd go 1, 4, 5, 3, 7, 6, 8 for me in order). Bringing her back…
"At this point, I’m not sure this season is vastly better than season six."
I think the fact she knows very little about Jesse is what made it easier for her to basically tell Walt to kill him. She's knows she's ignorant of many of Walt's crimes and in some ways wants to keep herself that way.
Anyone else notice the Deadwood DVD on Hank's bookshelf and was like 'Anna Gunn was in Deadwood!!'
