$22k feels too rich for a car that will never let you forget that it came at the tail end of the malaise era. I appreciate how clean it is, but you could buy something so much better than a wheezing old boat for that kind of money. No dice.

The new software is what made me give up on Gizmodo. It is such a pain in the ass to log in using my phone that I stopped trying. Participating in the comments is the main reason I have stuck with any of the Kinja sites. Without the interaction with other readers, the draw just isn’t there for me.

As for the gun, which Taylor purchased legally, she claimed that she last saw it when it was locked up. Her attorney James Ellesnon told GMA that “nobody knows” how the boy was able to get access to the firearm and bring it to school.

You want way above original MSRP for a used car that the manufacturer is disavowing all knowledge of like a captured spy? Well aren’t you adorable! No dice.

Subaru and Nissan should add their garbage CVTs to the maintenance schedule. Every 15,000 miles you check the air filter and replace the transmission.

Absolutely. My boat nerd needs will be well taken care of on this trip.

$9k feels like a steep price for a transmission made of rubber bands and wishful thinking.

I will definitely visit the ship when I go to San Diego in the fall, if it is open for tours. If nothing else I’ll look at it from the outside on my way to tour the Iowa. Seeing two iconic ships in the same harbor is well worth the drive for me.

I think bassracerx nailed it. The market was a hot mess for a couple of years, and a lot of people who would otherwise have replaced their cars decided to stick with what they had until prices came back down.

Sorry to hear about your pups. Losing both of them so close together must have been awful. Our older dog (10) has luxating patellas in both of her knees. She’s in great health otherwise, but I worry that if anything happens to one of her knees we may not be able to do anything about it. A surgeon told us years ago

All that grunting you hear is from Thomas’ defenders moving the goal posts again. Not that they even need to, since Thomas and Ginny the seditious MAGA psycho are untouchable in our current system.

Not wanting a CVT limits their options in the hybrid market. I’d say they need to accept that their Outback was a lemon and not indicative of all CVTs, but I completely understand why they don’t want another one. 4 transmissions in 50,000 miles sounds like a nightmare to deal with regardless of has to pay for them.

I can vouch for the Niro as a good choice. My parents recently bought the PHEV model, and they are very happy with it. Kia calls it a CUV, but it’s closer to being a station wagon. Plenty of space for a kid and two dogs.

Surprise twist- The driver was Tuco Salamanca’s abuelita. Don’t follow Tuco’s abuelita home, kids. Take your lumps and look for another mark.

In the ad, the seller said the wheels give the car a Eurosport look. There is nothing sporty about these cars. You buy one today for the stately presence and to appreciate the absurd build quality and attention to detail Mercedes used to put into their cars. The Pep Boys or budget tire shop employee should have

You made some good points, but we shouldn’t pretend that guns aren’t a huge part of the problem. The wrong house/car/driveway stories all should have ended with awkward apologies and everyone going their separate ways. Who hasn’t had a moment like that? Adding a gun to the situation means that the startled or paranoid

Those wheels. I can’t get past those horrible wheels. I’m not spending $11k on a base model Mercedes that needs new wheels and to have the grill repainted or replaced. For a few thousand less I’d be on board with rescuing this car.

This is why I always pack my cocaine in my carryon luggage. I keep it in nice little packages that have “BAKING SHIT” written on one side and “NOT DRUGS” on the other.

What grinds my gears is that his parents either didn’t see how letting him drive his friends in this car was going to end badly, or he said he wouldn’t pick up his friends and they were stupid enough to believe him. In a sane world they would be facing charges for letting a kid drive a car like that without adult

The price feels high since you can’t do a whole lot with such a single-purpose vehicle, but how often do you see one of these for sale in this kind of condition? I’d rather spend $4,500 on this Mailster for my low speed needs than blow over $10,000 on a UTV that also can’t safely leave residential streets. Nice
