Mint runs the Cinnamon desktop environment. I prefer Ubuntu+Cinnamon - funky hardware still works right (like in Ubuntu) but the Cinnamon interface is more user friendly.

To me this is a he said/it said scenario - the truck driver is saying that the car didn’t react in a normal “real world” manner that is expected in society and would have prevented the accident, and the author of this article is saying that it did.
