The only similarity is that they use evaporative cooling in order to cool something. Water injection is much more complicated than a simple intercooler sprayer.

90-96 Corvette ZR1's seem to still be in the affordable range with prices going from teens to upper 20's depending on the condition, and there are a lot of “in the wrapper” cars that people drove sparingly.

In all honesty, those are about the worst 4 banger noises I have ever heard. That noise is often associated with anemic honda 1.5l SOHC engines with cheap mufflers on them.
