What's the verdict on Singles, a movie that often gets conflated with Reality Bites? I think it holds up a lot better because it's less self-consciously '90s, probably helped by the fact that it came out right at the beginning of the slacker era and not smack dab in the middle of it. And it was made by Cameron Crowe

I bet whatever the Thai word for "catamite" is gets used a lot.

But who's going to play the tough, no-nonsense colonel/senator/sheriff?

No, the money's in the banana stand!

She would have made a good Batgirl, though. At least as good as a Batgirl could be in that piece of shit.

For oral histories they don't necessarily interview all the subjects. In cases where they can't, or someone declines to be interviewed, they may pull relevant quotes from old interview materials. I would think that's what they'd do here.

Front runner for Amber, not Cher.

"He's on the edge, sir!"

It's cool, I masturbate with my left hand.

Ha ha, not me! [High five]

Having just rewatched that scene, I noticed something subtle that I had forgotten about, which was that when the theme song gets to the "I don't have the answers, I don't have a plan" part, Jason Alexander does a little eyebrow raise that floors me. And another thing that struck me is that the Mad About You song

One of my favorite Seinfeld moments was Susan and George together, although they don't speak. It was them lying together in bed watching Mad About You, Susan just as happy as a clam, and the look of misery and regret on George's face is absolutely priceless.

Ohh, that's a shame.

Unfortunately it's also the "describe the entire output of the Beatles in one song track" song by people who never listened to the Beatles.

Clever girl….or boy.

I do steadfastly maintain that their high-five and "YEAAAAHH!" was the absolute best thing about that movie, which I enjoyed very much overall. It was a great scene to begin with, but that just pushed it over the top.

What's the difference?

Eric Stratton, rush chairman, damn glad to meet ya.

Routh was fantastic in Scott Pilgrim, easily the best scene in the movie.
