Few things are as satisfying as sailing around in Black Flag while your crew serenades you with sea chanteys.

being on the water there at night amongst those fallen monsters is the scariest shit ever

I see soo many positives to having a screen in front of passenger:

They probably already have a phone. In fact, one thing that bothered me about my ex was his absolute fixation on his phone when we were driving around. I would sometimes say things to see if I could get his attention. “Hey look, there’s a cow on fire over there.” No luck.

It’s a definite downer.

Anyone seen Pete Davidson’s ferry?

More screens = more luxury. Soon the rear passengers will have their own touchscreens that will control their windows, climate controls and have access to all the cameras on the car. All this would easily be a $10-15k option that many will pay.

gotta have some way to make up lost revenue when beards became fashionable again.

They are for those of us who travel with our personal DJ’s, you pleb!

Meanwhile, I’ve been getting by on one blade like a peasant for the past 15 years.

Passenger screen controls the rear TVs in my wife’s Wagoneer. It helps my kids get whatever program they want to watch on. She utilizes it often. Can you do that from your phone?

Might I also recommend Mallow’s Bay, part of the Potomac River in southern Maryland. Made up of surplus WWI freighters, it’s claimed to be the largest naval graveyard in the northern hemisphere. Most of the ships barely stick out of the water, but it’s still pretty cool.

just something on the dash people can see that they’ll open their wallets or bank loans for because it is a fad.

In a premium/luxury car like the Audi shown in the picture, a passenger screen feels like luxury just for the sake of it. When Johnny Consultant comes in to pick up a new lease on an A6, they’ve got to have something to justify charging more.

Watching the header gif alone makes me wonder if I need a tetanus shot now...

Well, there was that episode of the Secret Service duct taping a salon’s camera in Massachusetts recently. Spent a few hours using the bathroom and later denied the entire episode even though they are on camera both inside and out. (They have changed the story several times, so I have no clue what today’s version is).

My friend’s mom had a red one when we were in high school. I liked it. It looked cool, was reasonably quick, and handled well.

This is about the most mid car in automobile history.

I’m with you! I always loved the Cougar’s unique look. My grandfather gave my brother his ‘89 Probe and bought a red one of these, it was a fun little car for me to learn to drive on, even if underpowered. It was right at home in the golden era of the fwd coupes- Eclipses, Celicas, Pontiacs, Accord/Civic coupes.

In Norway there is a Tesla Supercharger station just 32 kilometers /20 miles south of Nordkapp, well above the arctic circle.
