The whole thing with the sweets was bad as a clue since Jack could obviously visit his uncle and get them anytime he was there.

To be fair, he is a firefighter in a world where people still talk about the time a decade ago when an alien army, led by an Actual Literal Norse God, fell out of the sky and got fought off by a WWII super-soldier, another Actual Literal Norse God, a billionaire who basically wears a super-science fighter plane, and

If he was a bigger jerk about it, it’d feel a little more natural. I wonder if he was going to be a cop in an earlier draft and someone behind the scenes thought it’d come across as topical/political and changed it.

Not a problem! On a related note, if you’re looking for something to read and feel like delving into some of this, I highly recommend Star Wars: Bloodline by Claudia Gray. It takes place a few years before TFA and is partially about Leia discovering the existence of the First Order, and in the process fills in a lot

One of the TFA’s big failings is explaining literally nothing more about the New Republic than its very existence. Sure, it follows ANH beat for beat, but that’s also by starting the movie in media res but without any actual thought as to what’s come before. It just does it because ANH did it but it’s pretty obvious

I keep thinking back to reading about how the Mummy movies just destroyed Brendan Fraser physically, and that contributed heavily to him stepping away from movies for a long time.

This is some 1970's-magazine-Jello-salad-with-scrambled-eggs-and-cinnamon malarkey.

And beyond Bubsy, there is Gex.

an original character called Reindog that no one will choose to play as.

The trailer and official announcements are saying the Xboxes, the Playstations, and PC. Basically everything but the Switch.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I wish we’d actually gotten Thor: Ragnarok first to introduce the character, and then had Doctor Strange be a flashback. I think it would have done a much better job building hype for the character.

In the great sub sandwich race, I wonder where Firehouse Subs ranks?

So yeah I literally have no idea what he’s talking about on that front, dude makes maybe the best horror movie ever made and declares it a superhero flick.

Not to get weird and obscure about it, but could it be like the Dragon’s Tooth Sword from the original Deus Ex, where the blade is made out of some nanotech BS that forms and collapses as needed?

To be fair, my experience with LARP endings may not be representative. But it feels like most (though I do emphasize not all) of the ones I’ve been in ended either with personal drama between players affecting the game and making it not fun any more, Storyteller burnout making it not fun to run any more, or

I will never understand why Marvel will not let Peter grow up, especially since a Spider-Man in his 20's (or hell, in his 30's with a wife and daughter) are much more interesting stories now instead of another rehash of his early years.

Yeah, I’m honestly a little disappointed in myself. Unfortunately, this is one of those cases where not all of my LARP stories are pleasant ones, and few of the LARPs I’ve run have ended under pleasant circumstances.

Ewww, disgusting. Everyone knows you’re supposed to fry bees, not bake them.

I checked his filmography and just by weird coincidence the only thing I’ve actually seen him in is Ant-Man, so I’ll have to find something that does him more justice and give him a proper shot.

And I sincerely appreciate you politely pointing out my misstep.
