I wouldn't hold my breath hoping for more Lin Beifong this season. Mindy Sterling's got family problems that, last I heard, have her taking a bit of a sabbatical from a number of projects.

I'm surprised there's nothing here about the Hunger Games casting, when people lost their shit over black actors being cast to play black characters.

No moreso than someone who really likes TV shows about meth-dealing or medieval incest.

Jesus, it's like someone told him he needs to be Charlie Sheen now to get work again.

Bellisario actually knew Oswald back in the military (while he's portrayed by an actor, Bellisario actually appears as a character in the episode) and drew from those experiences when writing the episode. And he was in fact rebutting the JFK movie based on his knowledge of the man himself.

Before the internet, people learned about bands from the opinionated shitheads who worked at the record stores being offered incentives by their bosses to unload the stuff that doesn't sell.

Who the fuck is this guy and why should I care?

Gay marriage being legal doesn't make Orson Scott Card any less of a bigoted, intolerant piece of shit. So my opinion on him is unchanged.

I've always been a huge fan of the episode "Naked Ambition," with the subplot where Boomhauer accidentally winds up in a mental hospital and Dale and Bill get trapped in there while busting him out. It's a fun send-up of the "Hank fixes everything" episodes.

Germs almost does NIN better than NIN does.

This is pretty much exactly what I expected since I saw the first trailer.

This explains so much.

I honestly suspect that Jay T. Doggzone is actually Jake and the book is just something he made up for the cash.

Well, I think they got the message from his agent (they talk about it in one of the commentaries) but I don't know off-hand if the agent was passing along a message from the man himself or simply making the decision on his behalf.

The way I've always felt it, it takes a few episodes of Venture Bros. to really start getting the jokes about the show's about, beneath the easter eggs and such.

I know this is a months-old post, but it's worth noting that the last actually-published version of the book is a lot more coherent than the earlier online editions.

See, I really didn't like what they did with the Mandarin. It's like if Luke reached the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi only to find out Emperor Palpatine actually died years ago and Vader just put a mask on somebody.

Oh, not arguing that. But I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Malcolm — who almost certainly knows Moira was the mastermind behind the attempt on his life — didn't decide that her connection to the Hood is the final straw it takes to just kill her.

Honestly, I'm surprised there's not even a footnote mention here of a similar study that says that as much as people bitch about spoilers, generally they enjoy the movie more if it's been spoiled. One would think that would be relevant.

I'm not sure if I'd really call Oliver one-step ahead of his enemies…
