I don’t agree there’s really any situation where cutting a 13 year old girl’s hair against her will is reasonable. That’s a major violation of someone’s bodily integrity.

In what world is that reasonable? It is an act intended to humiliate someone. No one should intentionally humiliate their children. If you think this is reasonable discipline, I hope you aren’t responsible for any children.

Please describe scenarios (other than chewing gum in hair, which this obviously wasn’t) where drastically chopping off the kid’s hair in a garage might have been “perfectly reasonable”. Really, I’m fascinated to hear.

That’s why I’m kinda happy about my kid’s local school district which did this thing where if a certain percentage of the kids qualify for free or reduced lunch then they just go ahead and give them all free lunch (breakfast too)...none of the kids are singled out and they all eat and the menu is released monthly so…
