Don't be fooled. They're still godless killing machines in miniature.

Aren't we all?

"I don't write for children. I write, and they tell me it's for children."

And another.

It's not uncommon for octopuses to use man-made objects in unique ways, either. There's a species of octopus that prefers to make their lair in beer bottles - and not just any kind of beer bottle. They prefer brown glass instead of green or clear glass (presumably because of its opacity). It's not a bad set up when

When I read that, what came to mind was Jeff and Britta from Community saying "Duh doy!"

There are some truly amazing hikes in Yosemite - it's one of my favorite parks.

It's difficult to identify one's own biases and recognize one's own assumptions. When people are raised to have one underlying explanation for all of life's questions, it's hard to shake that off. I know that it was hard for me. But citing lack of proof as evidence of existence is one of the more frustrating

Oh sure - make the power plays between your cats that much easier...

Feel free to join in - the more the merrier! ;) And if not, try making a bingo card out of this and see how many times you win.

I don't mean any disrespect to your beliefs or your logic, but what makes your answer of "God did it" more immune to criticism than my answer of "I don't know, but I'd love to find out someday"?

I'm going to be rich! Rich, I tell you!

Oh shit. I'd never heard of that case, but I'm glad now that I read about it. Thanks for bringing it up.

I wish I could say that surprises me, but sadly, it does not. Why your doctor thinks your husband would have any say over your tubes, I can't fathom.

Right. Because no one ever gets raped.

With respect, I would clarify that a woman would choose to terminate an unplanned pregnancy for survival reasons not because of a "belief" that society will not provide practical support - it's due to the *reality* that society will not provide practical support. Initiatives like the ones you mentioned are important

If this is true, then all of my uncles have been cursed with this disease.

This....this is worse than the fact that this book has been banned in some places. Anyone who could conclude after reading it that Fahrenheit 451 was in favor of burning books clearly doesn't read on a regular basis. This is the perfect book to have kids read in a class together - it's short. It's not dense.
