"And here, on the left, you will see another fossilized shonisaur installation, again by the artist known only as Cthulu - who specializes in mediums like the remains of once-living creatures, and the sanity of mankind."

She died running into the street to get a ball for children who were (apparently) too smart to run and get it themselves? Couldn't they have her die from exhaustion after tending night and day to some child victims of whooping cough? Perhaps heroically diving in front of a cop about to be shot by a robber? …
BWA HA HA HA HAAA! I love it. Does "too violent and mentally disturbed to go to jail but fine to release into society" Daniel Craig get together with "my incompetent husband's incompetent assassin killed an entire family by mistake" Naomi Watts at the end? Because that would just be awesome.
I think you may need to re-read the article. The author says that she only showed her daughter Starfire's re-design. She did not have her read it. And I'm not sure how this new take on Starfire allows people to understand her more, unless it allows them to understand that her purpose is to pose in a bikini.
Great article, Charlie. I agree 100% - and you put it much more eloquently than I would have.
I think that any controversy you might have read about the Myers-Briggs test may stem from it being used improperly. It should used to help people define and understand aspects of their personalities for the purposes of better interactions with other people, as my dad, a counselor, does. And "typing" isn't a hard…
So true.
Eye of Sauron (sorry, I'm a total LOTR fan). ;)
Speaking as someone who has a brother who is autistic and severly developmentally disabled, I find your comment extremely distasteful. Speaking as someone who is very close with a couple that *has* lost a child, I find your comment extremely ignorant.
Weep for the girl-children more - it's them that won't be vaccinated if their parents believe Bachmann's crap.
I vote both/and.
This isn't the first time Michele Bachmann has spouted spurious claims, and it won't be the last. I'm glad to see that the AAP quickly stepped up to discredit her lie.
Very well said, Parry. I'm in full agreement.
You're right - Shakespeare was by no means the most talented writer in the history of humankind, but he was a good one, and he's become a Western cultural reference point. He borrowed heavily from those who came before him, and those who came after borrow from him. His work, at the very least, gives us a broad…
I'd watch that.
Mystery Science Theatre 3000 automatically gets my vote.
Your comment leads me to the following conclusions:
"Build a man a fire, and you've warmed him for a day. Set him on fire, and you've warmed him for the rest of his life."
Love it!
You don't have to be a child to know that space ships are awesome. But it helps! ;)
