Cas is the kind of person who fights even in the face of enormous odds. That's why he rebelled. That's why he continued to help the Winchesters avert the Apocalypse. That's why he stood his ground against Rafael. He was out-matched in all of those situations, and now suddenly he actually has the power to do

I agree. So sure - Lisa and Ben don't remember who Dean is at the hospital. What happens when they go home and find Lisa's new boyfriend dead on the living room floor? Did Cas rummage through their personal belongings and photoshop Dean out of all their pictures? What about when her neighbors ask "So - how's that

The show reinforces all of Dean's decisions, except for the ones that are strictly personal to him. Season 4: "We've gotta stop the Apocalypse! Rebel for me, Cas!" Validated. Season 5: "I'm going to try to talk some sense into my Devil-possessed brother!" Validated. Season 6: "Don't go to the dark side, Cas!"

That's why the Winchesters are full of crap and really can't claim any moral high ground when it comes to killing innocent people. Every demon they kill with that knife is also an innocent person. Which is fine in a "kill or be killed" kind of way, but don't claim any superiority for it.

Where do I sign up for that?

I'll have to wait until next season's premiere before I can decide if God-Cas is a brilliant and dark move on the part of the show's writers, or just indicative of their inability or lack of interest in introducing new characters and letting them stick around. I thought that "The Man Who Would Be King" was an amazing

Phew! That's kind of comforting.

Bees?! Nooooo! Oh, God, not the beeeeeees!!!

Respect for the humanity of other people is not - or at least it shouldn't be - a strictly Western value.

You know, it's actually the gray "Other" category that scares me the most. There's too much left to the imagination.

Regarding your second point: there will be no effective or humane population "control" unless there is a greater continent-wide push toward establishing and protecting basic human rights, particularly those of women. You speak of a culture that has "no parental restraint" when the reality lies more towards a lack of

WANT.

I agree. And I'm a little disappointed that Dean is veering off into must-save-Lisa-and-Ben land just when things are getting interesting with the War in Heaven.

It will be awesome!

Same here. And no, I will not accept a replacement angel. Balthazar is great, but he's no Castiel.

No cephalopods for me, either - I just can't eat animals that are that cool.

Birds and snakes and aeroplanes?

Oh, come now! It's much easier to believe that a huge body of collective knowledge that has been studied and tested and rests on overwhelming observable evidence is the work of a world-wide multi-generational atheistic conspiracy! If it weren't, then we'd be forced to consider that some moldy generational records

Well, at least the world won't end before I get to see the Supernatural season finale.

I would agree that this isn't in character for Dean if he truly thought of Cas as a brother. But think about it - if Sam were the one dealing with Crowley instead of Cas, then Dean would feel angry, sad and betrayed - all of the above. But his reaction would be "I have to save him." Not "I have to kill him."
