Sometimes I wonder how the ancient Greek got anything done.

Always glad to be of help!
Not a lot to say about my weekend movies. I thought WarGames was kind of flat. Half Nelson was good, but ultimately failed to justify its dourness with meaning. Pointing out that there are no easy solutions to big problems isn't wrong, but also no epiphany. The General was pretty spectacular, but I thought also…
Definitely makes more sense than overripened. I just didn't think of it because I figured a present from co-worker (was it? Something along those lines) that's been sitting around for a week wouldn't be actually unsuitable for consumption like that, so I ended up putting the blame on their unfamiliarity with…
Was it under-ripe? At first I figured it had gone bad because they let it sit for too long, but I think they mentioned it was too bitter, so then I thought they might be so used to the sweeted, canned stuff that they somehow didn't enjoy the real deal. *shrugs* I guess you could actually sort of tie all three…
The Revenge of Shinobi. It makes me mad (Is there any rhyme and reason to this knockback?! This is all the i-frames I get?! What the hell, double-jump timing window!). I'll be damned if I let it best me, but I think I'm not as huge a fan as I expected to be. For maximum controversy: I think, uh, maybe, the 3DS Shinobi…
Phone Tap. It's pretty good actually, but sonically definitely more …presents The Aftermath than Chronic. Also in the group were AZ and Nature, who took Cormega's spot.
I don't know if they have anything from that list, but if you've got lots and lots of time, the official Youtube channel of the Korean Film Archive is a good place to knock yourself out: https://www.youtube.com/use…
Hell, I never played Little Nemo and only remember seeing it in Nintendo Power and even I feel confident saying it deserves more accolades.
More Ore no Ryouri and Rune Factory 4 (which, questionable character art or not, is SO adorable). Additionally, I finally got my own copy of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed thanks to a ludicrous Humble Bundle sale (ALL Sonic games on Steam for 7 bucks) and I'm working towards clearing the whole thing, which means…
I'm not Reverse Porky, but I'll add some to the list: Try Jóhann Jóhannsson (I'd say go either with The Miners' Hymns or IBM 1401: A User's Manual if you like it slightly nerdy) and if you're looking for church music, Alexander Levine's Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom is fantastic.
Don't forget the Soopaman Luva series. We're at… 6 1/2 at this point?
Yeah, that's the power of jackets. I got one that always makes me want to do a Vince McMahon power walk.
The batting average is definitely much better than for the reverse case. Activision's PS1-era Spider-Man games were pretty on point, and, while they didn't really capture the spirit of the show that much, Konami's Tiny Toons games were always good, too. I'm sure there's many more.
My Rev. infatuation is entirerly your fault, so no need to award me points there.
Oh, great reminder! I should probably catch up with some more recent Bonnie Prince Billy too. "Afraid Ain't Me" is still my favorite of his songs and needs some more competition. Given his ridiculous output I've probably already missed two whole albums, an EP, and a collaborative album.
Exactly. And I don't remember if it has the equivalent of that amazing pompadour sporting guy from Mysterious Island.
All I can say is that One Million Years BC is somehow a lot more boring. I should love it in theory because prehistory (or "prehistory") is my dumb nerd thing (and also at times my pretentious nerd thing), but even though I usually fancy myself above such things, my favorite thing about it is in the end just the one…
*laughs* Yeah, Alphaville definitely isn't the canonical recommendation, but I thought it'd be a good one if you view his "regular" output as something that's (however slightly) less enjoyable than another director's.
Not saying you must like Godard more or anything, but have you seen his more genre pic-ish offerings? Alphaville is probably my favorite Godard and would make such a comparison much harder for me.
