And now we have Master of My Make-Believe CDs with stickers that say "Featuring Disparate Youth from the Vodafone commercials". I'll be happy if that works for Santi, plus selling data plans with the words "We know now we want more/a life worth fighting for" just amuses me.

I actually love it, but I'm a bit of a sampling nerd. It makes me happy when I can say "Hey, it's the Isaac Hayes sample from that Royce da 5'9" song!", and dammit, it makes me happy when I can say "Hey, this episode of Malcolm in the Middle uses the same baby sounds as Baby Beat from the Wildstyle Soundtrack!"

It's even better when you remember that movies get released internationally. I think the German dub actually had "Seid ihr Astronauten auf so einer Art… Star Trek?"

I'd say go for Lookin' For A Love Again. It's from the same era, has Lookin' For A Love, one of his biggest hits, and Doing It My Way, my favorite song of his and generally just one of the greatest songs I've heard in my life. I Don't Wanna Be Hurt By Ya Love Again is amazing, too.

I've got to say I didn't like this nearly as much as I hoped. Part of why I enjoy soul music is, even when you're down on your luck, you still stand tall and keep going. There's still self-respect when no one else respects you. When you know you can't change your lot in life, you know you can still change how you

I felt a bit let down by what I heard on Hype Machine, but the streams over there tend to sound pretty shitty and maybe I was just having a bad day. I did generally like him since You Think You Know Vol. 2 and he has his heart in the right spot, so I'll just file this under "check it out when it hits rdio". I

Just a small nitpick, but man, I know no one cares about the whole Four Pillars thing anymore, but saying hip hop wasn't a disposable fad unlike b-boying — sorry, "breakdancing", and lumping that in with Cabbage Patch dolls while you're talking about the Golden Age of Hip Hop makes me go "Damn", Ron Simmons-style.

The lyrics might as well have been "Young singers Destroy Him My Robots hypes up from time to time/are you kidding me/you need to step your game up".

Oh, totally. And he definitely got his way more often than not. As for Wilhelm, well, Bismarck's generally remembered for the unification, social legislation, and first and foremost diplomacy. Wilhelm II only fucked up the by far most important part, but not all of them, and to be fair, almost anyone would've fumbled
