I mean, I get wanting to work very little and take it easy. I knew a dude who, quite literally, worked delivering furniture and loading moving trucks for a few weeks — then he would take a month or so off to surf and smoke weed. When the money ran out, he’d hit up his buddies he knew who ran the local moving companies

What exactly is the second graph trying to show? (I have a decent guess, but it is free of all quantifiable data. All I see are a bunch of county names. And big counties I would expect to see, like Philadelphia, are missing.)

So good. SO good.

They want to work? Then why do they vote against people who want to offer retraining programs, fund community development grants and help them get jobs in actually sustainable businesses instead of pretending the local coal mine or pencil factory is coming back?

*White voters only

The liberal elites the rubes in the hinderland hate so much are the ones doing the heavy lifting in the country, and really the ones who personally benefit when the GOP is in power.

What I don’t understand is the primal, visceral resistance to change that they have.

I just don’t get it. What do these people want?

Pointing out that *some* people in middle America chose to be blind and uninformed is not disdain for everyone in the state of Iowa.
Let’s not pretend they are the same.

it’s probably more productive to focus your anger at the rich manipulators rather than the poor, powerless people being manipulated

This is our story, except with Accords. We bought our current one used about 4 years ago (it’s an ‘08). Thing runs like a dream, has never broken down on us, and never needed a major repair besides the cost of routine maintenance. If we needed to, I bet we could get another 10 years out of it.

Ugh. That sucks. On the bright side, it sounds like a place you probably wouldn’t want to be at for long, so if they don’t bring you on full-time you might be better off in the long run. (If you need the job, I know how disappointing it is to be in limbo, but if they treat you like this in the “still courting” stage,

What a dumb article. The entire premise that the media ignored things like NH’s demographics favoring him is patently false. I heard that literally 6 times a day in the run up to each of those primaries. That is Political Coverage 101.

densely populated cities where people live in complete ignorance about the rural blue collar workers.

I know. Massachusetts and California totally would’ve gone for the Cheeto if only the EC was disbanded. It’s just the logical next step.

Sorry, I don’t have time to retype 50% of the news from the past 5 weeks. Maybe you should click out of Breitbart and look at some other news for a few minutes each day?

Some of them would have. Quite a few of Trump’s voters said they liked Sanders’ outsider stances and that he wasn’t the same-old politician.

the majority didn’t vote for Trump, when in fact, they did, through the EC

And this leaves out completely the impact of the 3rd party candidates, which attracted predominately left leaning voters.

One person won nearly 3 million more votes — I think we have a decent idea about who would have won.
