I stated this elsewhere, but it’s probably a waste of time to try to inform this nitwit about reality, considering he spent a lot of time trying to tell a bunch of women what it’s *really* like to be a working woman today.

Inherent in what you are saying is that men are the “norm” and women are a variation of that. Which is pure bullshit.
Because they don’t want to work with asshole who think they’re “wired differently”?
Worth noting that some of that 30% would stay in the workforce if their pay was high enough to cover childcare. So the percent that WANT to work is likely higher than 70.
THIS. I fully intended to stay at my old company when I was pregnant. However, since my manager (a workout not mom herself, FYI) basically turned on me as soon as I announced I ended up leaving after I gave birth.
It just seems that you have a lot of reasons why it’s the fault of all women that they are paid less as a class (they don’t stay put, they are risk averse, they don’t negotiate, etc.) without giving any credence to the idea that maybe — just maybe — there are companies that pay women less because they know they can…
I’ve always found that men are the better negotiators and are more demanding of their employers.
The longer you’re with a place (usually), the more pay you get.
The fact is, most women, most, not all, are going to leave their careers in their 20s and 30s to have a family
That is not what he said — that’s what you chose to read into a colloquialism that you surely know is not meant literally.
I love that your very simply stated personal preference has now been interpreted as 15 different types of fascism and narcissism. How *dare* you have a personal preference!! SHAME!!
Still. You know what I’m saying. I never feel like shag carpets are fully cleaned, no matter how much you vacuum.
Shag on the pipes?
Even for the same person, different techniques work for different goals. For work stuff, I’m very much a “go-whole-hog” person. For stuff like decluttering/organizing, I have to do the tiny improvements method they discuss here.
Yup, I traveled to Toronto in roughly summer of 2000 and I think it was about 1 to 1.6. I have never felt so rich in my life.
The only one of these my two year old wouldn't eat is the salad. These are not exotic foods.
This is a random, pointless comment, but your post reminded me so much of my husband’s aunt’s house. They have a perfectly lovely, large house so they do a lot of the big holiday entertaining. But in this otherwise very lovely, modern house the powder room is wallpapered in a silver-foil w/ black accents safari-animal…
If you have sushi leftovers to put in the fridge you need to re-examine your life choices.
Just about any place with at least one Asian or Asian-style restaurant.
And when you do that, everyone you ask for money knows that you are an entitled, classless asshole. They may not say that to your face, but trust me — they’re thinking it. Because it’s the truth.
