I think to a degree it does. When the best leagues in the world play eleven month seasons and the MLS season is what, eight months? Nine including the playoffs? The majority of the players you want to develop in your domestic league aren’t getting as much playing time as their international counterparts.

I have always felt that as long as the US league’s highest tier has a season that is structurally different then the rest of the world, the US won’t be consistently compete with other countries.

It does seem odd that such a pro-analytics owner would hire such a seemingly anti-analytics basketball decisionmaker, but then again Vivek Randivé did hire Divac without explaining to the rest of the front office that he was the final decisionmaker

I didn’t watch the Vivek interview on NBA TV the other day, but has anybody asked him point blank about his horrendous decisions? E.g. Why would you hire a coach who you know does not like/would want to trade your best player, a player you refuse to trade.

Gotta hand it to those dudes in the yellow vests who held off a great deal of more fans from making their way onto the pitch before the riot cops arrived. Pretty amazing they were able to do that considering their numbers versus the fans.
