yeah that's a very general statement, doesn't really help. I think emissions from a coal power plant is probably less then the emissions from a gas when you count CO2/mile.

but why not just use natural gas then? I don't get why it would be more efficient to take natural gas, get hydrogen, then burn hydrogen instead of just burning the natural gas in the first place.

never going to happen. Hydrogen is cheapest when it comes from oil so your better off using gasoline anyways. Hydrogen will make sense when oil is scarce and electrolysis of water becomes an affordable alternative.

When you use an electric motor, your main concern would be top speed. I'm guessing the 0-60 accel was an added bonus when they picked the motor for the top speed they want out of this car.
