its very difficult for anyone to just "swoop in" to lay a cable network as vast as comcast and att. In most areas they are the only one if your lucky, in a lot of areas there maybe only 1 cable/landline provider. Regulation is needed when its inherently difficult to complete because the infrastructure is so costly.

the issue sounds like a voltage leak to the enable pin of the GPS chip. Probably can be fixed by a sw update.

he has a point, if my tv is not going to get the latest updates after 2 years like the iphone then why should I buy an apple tv set? The life of a TV is much longer then your phone or the current apple tv box.
