I agree that Eugenes behaviour was despicable and a huge error of judgement, but it does make him much more sympathetic than the story we were told happened in the first season. He's still made a mistake for which he needs to atone, but the girl was also abhorrent and shares quite a bit of the blame for what happened.

I'm super excited about the Phoebe Waller Bridge rumour and am really hoping it's true.

The zap from the Cyberman at the beginning of the episode killed him, he just had enough strength to stave off the regeneration process until the end.
