If alpine makes cars that look this good, I might get into french cars.

1st gen Dodge Viper rt10. 30 grand for a low mileage handbuilt v10 supercar. These will easily be 50-100 grand outside of a decade. Right around when I actually get money for one.
When, in your magnificent opinion should an engine be rebuilt? When it shits the rods through the block? When the oil passages become clogged from 29 years of use? When a blown headgasket causes coolant to leak into the cylinder? I usually like to keep these things from happening in the first place. Or are you psychic…
Ok, I guess common mechanical knowledge, factory service intervals, and the laws of physics and friction are all wrong. A complex machine with thousands of moving parts can cycle hundreds of millions of times without being disassembled and inspected. I was wrong.
Hey if you buy an old car and don’t get screwed, you’re doing it wrong. I also might have a problem with abusive relationships :)
That is simply good maintenance. My engine has 100 k and it runs just fine. I’m going to rebuild it because you start doing irreparable damage to critical components. A gasoline engine should be rebuilt every 150k miles and they can last well over 1 million miles.
Just factor in an engine rebuild, a transmission job, and whatever the awd system needs, and you have spent nearly 10 grand on an 80s car!
Why buy this 80k miles Porsche when you can buy a 1996 viper rt with 28k miles for 25 grand less?

oh no a comment on the internet
So basically, you are berating me for using a ben quote out of context, then proceed to use my own words out of context. wow.
How do racecars significantly contribute to air pollution?
Both articles posted to the FP infer gas passenger car type engines. If diesel engines are the only ones being affected, this becomes much more ironic. If that is the case I guess the journalistic integrity of jalopnik is less than I had hoped. Still, forcing conformity with standard vehicle emissions tests should be…
Do you think people converting street cars for racing contributes significantly to pollution? Because I dont. i live in a state that has emission standards, I cant just rip of my catalytic converters and call it a day.
So much rage in these comments lol. You do realize this is just the internet right? Everything needs context and I gave none. I am by in large opposed to government regulation, and this is an example of it. not all government regulations are bad, but this is an example of fun nazis going after something they do not…
Posted this elsewhere but I’ll post it here:
the ferarri california is ugly.
Do cars for jalops ever go on sale? IE muscle cars, hot hatches, awd rally car consumer models, ect. I have never paid attention to these ads.
I love these cars, but I voted CP. don't car if it is rare, in this condition it is not worth that much money. 5500 tops for bs engine and lies.
Toyota never put the effort in with scion. Clearly, the wanted it to sell cars that were risky in the U.S. (Kei cars) and due to corporate bs and cheap gas it never materialized. Instead of changing market segments, they just bumble around, and as a result were never competitive like Kia. The should have become Kia.
