I feel the same about TMZ and the Daily Mail. If the link is to any of those three, I don’t click. There are probably others, but those are the three that come immediately to mind.

You’re supposed to be disgusted. I didn’t like the movie when it ended, but by the time I got home my opinion had changed. It was thinking about Oswoldo’s speech about justice requiring an impartial juduge, jury, and executioner; and the fact that we don’t actually know that Daisy did anything wrong. All we ever…
A lot less truck nuts then I would have expected.
I didn’t see those behind the scenes pics, and I’m sure the degree to which it was taken kinda lends itself to being funny at a certain point. It’s just hard for me to see it on screen with no additional behind the scenes context, and I could argue that shouldn’t really influence my perception of the movie qua movie.
Maybe it’s my bad for doing this, but I expand all threads and read the greys, too. I saw plenty of whining about feminists and a good deal of “This is why I can’t be an ally; progressive thinking RUN AMOK” over what amounts to a nothing exchange between Tarantino and a reporter.
Personally, Im relieved that Sharon Tate isnt like one of the gals in Death Proof: listen to them prattle on for hours about pseudo-hip nonsense and then get snuffed out. If shes more of a symbolic element of this new film then thats probably for the best. Hes not making a Sharon Tate biopic so whatever extra screen…
Her beating was mostly played for laughs, including moments where she’s spitting out teeth. I don’t NECESSARILY buy into the “QT is misogynist” narrative, but Hateful Eight really isn’t the best movie to use as an example. I walked out of there pretty disgusted
I honestly did not know there were so many Tarantino stans here. Like, disagree with the argument (I’m not entirely sold) but I’m not seeing very many attempts to engage with the criticism, just “Jackie Brown and Kill Bill! Shut up, feminists, I’m tired of #MeToo!” So weird.
And yet... Wrong? I don’t think so. Quentin goddam Tarantino does not need the dipshit white knights clamoring to defend him here. It is genuinely silly. I can’t tell whrich party are bigger QT kiss-asses: these Kinja folks or Eli Roth.
The responses here are soooooooooooo disingenious, like this isn’t Quentin “Walking Fetish” Tarantino we’re talking about here. Oooo Kill Bill, two movies worth of icky rape, male gaze, and super stylized violence against women. So empowering! Such strong women! It’s basically Sucker Punch but with an air of…
He dismissed her response by quoting it and describing it as ‘gracious’ and ‘diplomatic’?
Great review by her...had me verging on tears by the end damn it. If anyone hasn’t revisited 92 Aladdin by the way, definitely do it. It’s kind of generic Disney in a lot of ways, but Williams blows the entire thing apart with his presence. Just an unforgettable performance.
The only bomb was Dumbo, which even if it had been received well seemed like a pretty big mismatch of director to content.
Just watched that yesterday, so glad her hiatus is over. I laughed way, WAY too hard at the Pretty Asshole thing.
They underperform critically, not commercially.
Beauty and the Beast net a billion at the box office.
As a question : As far as i can see, most of these live action remakes are basically a shot for shot remake of the original. And since most of them feature heavy use of CGI, they are still animated anyway.
Instead of this movie, does anyone wanna see this new Lindsay Ellis video about Disney screwing over Robin Williams and leading the floodgates open to movies who rely on a-list celebrity voice talent alone?
I didn’t realize we were even getting a 3rd season of Jessica Jones since they announced it was cancelled several months ago.
Chocolate salty balls?
