I think it’s fascinating that she, like Colbert, is beloved among her colleagues on top of being a brilliant performer. Both have far better reasons to be brusque and shitty than your average jerk, but by all accounts both are delightful human beings in a way that you shouldn’t take for granted in the comedy world.

Just make sure you wash them thoroughly. They can get quite sandy.

Ok, so today I learned it was/is bad to make fun of Rebecca Black, because it was mean but also more importantly there’s now someone new to make fun of.

They are still abusing the flames out of the exhaust effect with almost every single shift. Even the Golf R for god’s sake. That kills the realism of the otherwise good audio.

It sucked ass, but I personally thought the “none of that was actually true, the reality is tremendously sad, good night everybody” ending was really ballsy.

Nothing ages worse than comedy, but I can’t imagine Conan’s remotes ever aging poorly. Their comedy perfection.

Stern called his 2015 interview with Conan his best, and I’m inclined to agree. I’ve listened to it multiple times. He mines comedy so well from his rough early days, it’s incredible.

You’re completely right about streaming being a more natural home for Conan, but I am a little sad that he’s becoming less accessible to the mainstream.

Conan going to a variety show format is the right move. In fact, he should have done that when he took over the Tonight Show. When Steve Allen started the show, it was much more variety than talk. It was Jack Paar who took it in the talk direction, refined and institutionalized by Carson.
