I think it has something to do with the dichotomy of “breast as a sexual fixation of/for men” vs. “breast as a mechanism for feeding babies.” In our society the former is given precedence. Which is pretty fucked up.

The one thing about Got-Ham that I never understood, was why young Bruce Wayne was in it at all? The show has always supposed to have been about Jim Gordon and corruption at the GCPD. So, why all the story arks that are building toward Bruce becoming Batman? A character we’ve been told we’ll never see.

It’s also a thing in other places - I’m Chilean and my sister carries one around. Then again there was another lady nursing openly in the bus and no one gave a shit (as it should be). Personally I think they make sense if it’s cold or if the baby likes it better, but fuck doing it for strangers’ sake.

At some point they even made statues about it. This is a fountain near my hometown. It is located in an old former spa that was frequented by Sisi of Austria and other royalty.

It’s especially galling that people get their panties in a twist about something that was openly done for thousands of years. It's so weirdly regressive.

And this lady even uses the modesty blanket... not that she has to. But seriously, if it is about the ZOMG fear of nipples, with that giant blanket there, there is no risk of that.
