Mutantdude and I saw this stage adaptation http://www.scifidimensions.com/Jan04/geeklove.htm in '04 and it was pretty good, and we would love to see it on the big screen. I can't stand Pixies/Black Francis (the Mr. is a fan, though), so I think Tom Waits or Nick Cave would be a better choice.
