@odinsraven: Um...I saw all three of the movies without reading the books (I'm about to start Dragon Tattoo tonight) and I interpreted the character exactly the way you said she wasn't portrayed. Noomi Rapace was badass. I'm sorry you didn't see it that way.

@stoprobbers: While I agree with your points about Lisbeth and sexuality, I think the issue with the photo shoot is that it's, as you said, a promotional shoot...it's job is to promote the movie. And if this is how they are promoting the movie, can we expect much better from the actual film? And if the film will be

@midwesternmom: And now you have to live with the knowledge that you lusted after a Backstreet Boy for the rest of your life.

@AvalonBright: There are a lot of non-traditional gender variations, including genderqueer, which can extend to any number of people with differeing identities regarding gender. I think it's incredibly offensive to state flat out that girl + beard = creepy.

@Elaken: YES! Thank you so much for saying this. I have never been in a serious relationship and have barely ever dated, and it's the one thing I want more than anything in the world (I didn't have a very stable family growing up and we're still not close now that I'm an adult, so I want nothing more than to be

@AvalonBright: And I'm pretty sure that's offensive to those who don't fit into the standard gender norms. Not cool at all.

I'm not sure if I like the implication of the word creepy in the headline. Is it creepy because it will look like two men kissing? Or because of the idea of someone with feminine features and a beard? Either way - that word feels problematic to me.

@LaComtesse: Drug or plastic surgery addict?

@LaComtesse: I'm just sayin'. We talk about Hollywood's misogyny and the pressure on women and especially women in her age bracket who are having trouble getting roles. This is probably the most accurate guess as to what happened.

@LaComtesse: It could've been something more along the lines of "I felt pressure from Hollywood to use Botox to make myself look younger, but I hated how I looked and after all these years I finally decided I didn't need to do what I was told in order to be happy in my career." Or something along those lines.

Isn't doubling your staff what you have to do to BECOME a father? Ba dum bum! ;-)

@rbg219: That really sucks that three overachievers ruined it for the rest of the staff (even though I agree that starting maternity leave at 5 months without symptoms is ridiculous).

@leightenhet: Wow. Yeah, bodysnarking...WAY not cool around these parts.

@annieb603: Must be why I'm still single.

@OnTheLevel: I'm trying to figure it out too. James Dean and Howl were in the 50's and Milk was the 70's so now I'm trying to figure out if there was another gay character he played that I don't know about.

The other day I picked up my cat and when I put her down, her fur was ALL over my shirt. She was SHEDDING her FUR! It's a sign of the Apocalypse! :-P

@Understater: I have definitely noticed that lately. Glad I'm not alone.
