The novel A Clockwork Orange. When Alex vomits after making a gross pass at that woman in front of that crowd. The total removal of free will just killed me (even if the character is despicable). I felt similarly about the ending of 1984. Guess I have a type.

Just reading about those cats made me feel sick…

At the very least you'll come out of it in love with Kate Mckinnon.

I'm another person who isn't in love with the original Ghostbusters. I like it, and i'd definitely say it's better than the 2016 film, but at the same time i was prepared to a) like the new one on its own and admit that its better if it was, b) give it a damn chance and c) say that it wasn't good for reasons other

I remember someone (Your Movie Sucks?) criticising the dialogue in the remake by saying there is no real progression in how they speak (something like "exposition, character trait, random aside/derailment") whereas the original had tighter character interactions. Not to say the guy is *wrong* but that really just

I shouldn't have said 'character', that kind of confused the issue. ScarJo is more or less a suit the character is inside of, so the actress could theoretically look like anyone of any race. Even if a Japanese actress would have been preferable I don't think the casting was a collasal misstep because of the narrative

GITS was a special case where the whitewashing controversy really came down to "the character doesn't need to be white" rather than "this character was definitely Japanese". When the original director said the casting was fine and laid out pretty clear reasons for why, I think that should have been the end of it.

The cast is so perfect that I'd hate to see anyone leave. I always thought Charlie would be the first to go though since he's had a lot of outside success.

Mate i haven't even started it. Unfortunately my funds are, ahem, limited. Right now i'm trying to get though a lot of Ed Brubaker stuff (I'm up to date with Kill or Be Killed, just finished Fatale and have started Criminal) and i'm moving through Grant Morrison's work with Vertigo slowly (Invisibles is rewarding,

I read comics but people seem to think that I know everything about DC/Marvel when I tell them that. There are other comics, people. Ones that aren't up to their ears in unreasonable fan boys. I love talking comics but my superhero knowledge is only okay.

I only find them off-putting in hindsight. At first I found it cute and funny, and Gish commits to them so much, but it doesn't jive with the characterisation we got in season 9. It's practically a glimpse into world where the character isn't bland.

I barely remember her in the movie but I remember having to drag her through the damn forest in the video game.

Garbage's song is probably one of my top five Bond songs ever just for sheer replay value.

True, but for a six episode season that's… pretty bad. Carter should just take a step back and let another showrunner take the reigns (*crosses fingers for Gilligan*) and maybe we'd get a more consistent season.

It's the writing that wrecks her. She has about two character traits. I won't say anything bad about Gish though. She tried. She even managed to make something out of the character on occasion.

I'm pretty sure that his thought was quite literally that Hannibal was so over the top and ridiculous that it couldn't possibly be made a movie, but was a pretty great joke that he could get paid for.

I'm glad i wasn't around for that. I saw the movie when it came out and… it was okay. Really it was just a bunch of crazy stuff with a lot of violence and a really good Colin Firth performance. I understand the basic complaints people have about the ending, but its just, as Sben said, a James Bond parody gag.

But the real question is: will the offspring be adorable in the cuddly way (Jordan) or the 'will strike you down way'(Chelsea)?

I don't know what I expected
