I actually had a similar experience (which i've recounted on this very site a long time ago), basically i thought the pilot for Community was unappealing as hell and still think its a really poor series premiere. But I gave it a try months later because a friend was obsessed. I like the first three seasons, after that

That show is my pick too. I try to explain it but… never successfully.

Have you looked behind that curtain over there?

I genuinely cannot understand how a person can watch and enjoy years of a show yet take away nothing except that the lead is attractive.

A woman on Facebook said this: "I can't have a crush on a woman". Fans are fucking fickle and weird sometimes.

Too sexy, this is a family show.

Dry wit with a touch of manic tangent I'd guess.

He got a fair amount of hate around here. I don't dislike him, but I think he would have been an uninspired and safe choice for the show. I like my Who to try new things.

She can act. Check out Broadchurch and Attack the Block, the latter is especially good. And regarding whether she's Doctor-y enough… Well that is a subject thing and we'll have to wait and see.

Funnily enough, that kind of teasing is right in Moffat's wheelhouse. It's almost a shame that we won't get barely-PG double entendres from him. Can't underestimate Chibnall though.

Nine once explicitly said that he could wind up with three heads, so being a woman should never have been a surprise or point of contention for fans. In the new series this has been a possibility for years.

I'm excited for this casting. Doctor Who is about change and embracing difference, it's only fair that its audience respect or at least have a civilised reaction to the series's new lead. Those saying "the doctor needs to be a man" haven't been paying attention.

Didn't she also write Jesse and Celeste Forever (or something similar)? I recall that being well received.

Not to be "that person" but any interview with him is kind of a dead giveaway.

How about you not kill my dreams of seeing Anna Kendrick wearing a fake mustache and tweed suit.

Damn … I really liked Park, kinda sours me on her to know that she believes in something that hackneyed and crazy.

I googled it, there was a thing on Reddit about it with some questionable sources, it's possible that it's true, although I certainly hope not.

"Hey Calculon's back!" Is the example sticking in my head of a random gay neighbour in season one.

Cobie Smulders' character was Maria Hill, but I'm fairly sure most people just call her Robin since her name isn't really said that much.

I think BSG pulled off its grand story a little better than those two by having strong character writing. Even if they screwed up the story, they ended the characters' arcs very well.
