It’s goddamn terrifying, man. It was the company’s mode of transport at my first job and it’s the golden beacon of what suspensions shouldn’t feel like. You just have to keep chanting to yourself that it hadn’t tipped over yet.

That 7k estimate probably is someone doing it all themselves lol
Damn I miss movie theatre popcorn. I don’t miss the subsequent bellyaching, but it was always good while it lasted.
Are you looking to get grayed, friend? Cause this is how you get grayed!
One thing I’m still not clear on is why is engine braking bad, exactly? I get that it puts more wear on the components, but now I want to know why.
They’re not which isn’t cool. Too early for that sort of thing.
I also want to read that book. Well, the day can only go up from here, right?
Nice, of course
Damn, good answer. I was thinking shop vac but that takes much more effort and is more risky. If possible it’d be cool to get a canopy or tent or something so you can bug bomb the outside of the car while you’re at it.
Continental DWS 06s are on my wife’s car and they’re going on mine too when the time comes. They still can’t beat dedicated summer or winter tires, but they come damn close.
You bring up a good point. Not only check torque once it’s home, check it again after 100 miles. You’re supposed to anyway, but it seems most people don’t know about that and most shops don’t tell you.
Yep, this. I’ve had a few sets over the years for one reason or another and was never satisfied with them. They’re still preferable over the brands you’ve never heard of, but they tend to cost as much as better alternatives anyway.
I dunno, I kinda liked the way they looked. Compared to modern cars, yeah, they’re pretty bland, but like everyone else has pointed out, so was everything else at the time. And hey, you get one with a V8 and they sky’s the limit on power.
Oh man you’re right, it’s like one of those almost-brands.
I’m with you. I don’t know what it is, but there are things I like about it. You could do a lot worse...visually, anyway.
The Infiniti didn’t get any less weird over the years
Ditto. I still look back to see what’s behind me (I would anyway), but being able to see exactly where the tire is in relation to the curb is invaluable.
That’s why the high beams are on...the normal headlights aren’t cutting it any more >.<
Ditto! I love the idea of being able to roll the entire window out of the way. Though, considering the window on my current SUV doesn’t move at all, I’d settle for the pop-up variety. It makes it really hard to throw long pieces of wood in the car!
Forgot VAG. Them too.
