I’ve said the same thing, but I’ve also told myself don’t jinx it. I don’t want to live in that world.

It’s a subreddit of all the ridiculous stuff that mechanics see. Most of it is brake pads worn past the metal or bald tires, but there’s plenty of things like tappets or camshafts that burn up after 20k miles, poor welds, rust on new cars, absurdly difficult repairs, cheap plastic parts, etc. which is more often than…

That’s the first time I’ve heard of a problem with them! My guess is it just wasn’t tight enough like you said, just based on what you described. Hey, it happens to the best of us.
Oh no doubt, but the failure rate is low enough to not worry about it. The only time I’ve heard about a problem with them is another commenter here, but it sounds like it may have been an installation problem or at worst a fluke.
There is. Those three vertical dots to the top right of your comment. Maybe it’s not on mobile or something, but I see them.
I think FCA as a whole does a pretty good job in this area. They definitely got the flair aspect down.
Fumoto valve. It screws into the drain hole. You hook up a hose to the end, turn a valve, and out comes the oil.
This. This has got to be the most bothersome feature in newer cars period, because it doesn’t just affect the bloke that bought it. It pisses everyone off!
And good luck if you need a new windshield and don’t get the OEM one. I had to disconnect the sensor on my XC90 because the wipers flat out wouldn’t work with it connected. At some point the PO got a new windshield and probably went with whatever was cheap.
No joke! We just bought a C300 recently and every...single....one we saw on Autotrader was black, white, or some sort of gray. We ended up driving to the next state over and paying extra for one in a real color. Fortunately it’s a really cool color. It’s an iridescent paint, so it shifts between blue and gray.
Auto-dimming mirror! Good call. This is one of the first things I do with the car if it doesn’t already have it. It’s like sunglasses, once you start using them, you can’t imagine going without.
I’m considering adding one to the drain plug of the front diff on my wife’s car. It only has a drain plug, no fill plug, so refilling either involves pulling an axle or pumping fluid in and then quickly swapping the plug back in before too much drains out. With the Fumoto valve, pump the fluid in, shut the valve,…
And more cupholders and storage! I’m tired of having to decide between drinks or a place to put my cell phone. It’s not just a guy or gal sort of need!
lol Yeah I’ve heard of that. At least it’s just nuts, bolts, and time standing in your way of getting to it. On the one hand, you shouldn’t have to replace the starter all that often, on the other hand it’s being baked pretty much all the time.
It would be pretty awesome to crack the million mile mark on a Moab trail
Seriously, most of those things shouldn’t be that difficult for a handy DIYer.
Get out of my head!!!
This strip came to mind when reading that. So true.
Yeah, no, haven’t had that happen to me...
