You’re right, realistically “lifetime” doesn’t mean forever. Problem is, things like transmission fluids aren’t meant to go 150k miles, or even 100k miles. Lifetime fills are meant to cater to the first owners of said cars. It lowers the initial cost of ownership at the expense of the later cost of ownership.

No shame at all. Timing belts aren’t something to rush even if you’ve done it dozen times!

Good call on the filter. Sadly the engine filter is also weirdly overlooked, so that too.

Change all of the fluids and timing belt (unless they aren’t due for their first change yet, but maybe still), then check out the brakes and tires. So many people never change fluids so they’re frequently ignored. Manufacturer’s “lifetime” fluids have only exacerbated this. And while we’re on the topic, they can burn

If they were wagons I’d probably have one right now.

His cornflakes may have actually had piss in them that morning. Holy cow.

I had a friend who did that with any car he test drove too. I think he warned the salespeople, but naturally the people behind him never did.

Good luck. I had a driver roll back into me on the freeway and then make a run for it instead of exchanging information. Long story short State Farm bungled it bad and ended up paying several thousand dollars to the other driver for rear-end repairs despite my car not suffering a single scratch. Stupid fuckers.

I want one of those V8 S4s so bad. I love bad idea cars.

No worries, I’ll send you a bill for their replacement.”

I am, but once they leave the garage, they don’t break down.

The problem I’ve run into is when I ask for an independent inspection and they just come back with “we dealer, we inspect”...*sigh*

I couldn’t put my finger on it, but yeah, that’s it. At this point I’ve seen enough that by the time I see it without camo, it’ll be old hat.

It doesn’t end there. Count the lug nuts!

Even if there was, it may be on the wrong side of the blower to avoid this problem. Might be worthwhile to check that filter if one hasn’t lately though.

Man I was just about to pipe in with “I wish I had known how much it was going to cost” in regards to my ‘04 XC90. Friggin’ P2s. It’ll be nice when it’s done though...which will happen...one of these days.

You mean to tell me that Canada is of significant size and has different cultures in different regions? Pishah

So which was it: heading to or from Sunnyvale trailer park?

I dunno, I do like that you stick it in a slot and it’s a push-button start instead of having to twist it. Twisting on a fob to start the car just makes me really uncomfortable. First, I don’t trust it to hold up over time and just expect that one day it’ll shatter in my hand. Second, you’ve got to be conscientious of

Or sap. Parking anywhere in the driveway at my last house meant coming out to a car covered in sap droplets and a carpet of dirt. Thank goodness for that garage.
