Be honest, were you prowling Reddit this morning? I just learned about this truck’s history (albeit with not as much detail) this morning.

I knew you liked BMWs but damn. Are you doing them for other people, or are these your own cars?

I had the same experience with a 2001 Nissan and 2006 Toyota engine. Kinda bugged my neurotic side that it was just a spot or two instead of all or nothing.

Honestly, that just looks like fun. My definition of a good time has changed over the past few years though.

Yep. If it’s supposed to take a day, I make sure it’s a Saturday.

And, shocker, they usually end up in another car with a heavy depreciation curve...and end up in the same situation a few years later. Some people are dumb.

I still want one of the later ones. It’s too bad they don’t come in wagon form.

I agree, it’s a classy touch. Just make sure it’s actually legible. It makes me crazy when it’s super tiny and most of the hour marks are missing. What am I supposed to do with that? It’s hard enough to read an analog clock while driving. Women’s watches seem to be the biggest culprit.

Personally I enjoyed your contribution the most. Good find.

I came —> <— this close to buying a Cobalt SS supercharged to replace my first car. I kind of regret it because it would’ve been hella fun, but from everything I hear about the build quality, I dodged a bullet.

I have a similar result and have come to realize lately it’s not too hard to remedy. Grab a running manual beater off Craigslist for a few hundred dollars at most and then just sell it when you’re done learning.

Not pursuing the purple ‘69 Boss Mustang in the back of a small car lot when I was shopping for my first car. I passed it up because it had a flat tire >.< Oh well, based on the cobwebs underneath it probably had much bigger problems and likely wouldn’t have been cheap enough anyway.

Dang, thanks for the math. It’s probably a good thing we don’t have flying cars yet.

I think you’re onto something. I’m convinced the faux-glamour lifestyle is to blame for the throw-away culture we’ve been developing as well.

I’m positive we’ve seen her around these parts before. Next to a different car, though, I think.

Personally I really like the use of cartoons when it comes to high performance cars or parts. I think it’s just the contrast of staggering power and a goofy/friendly character. It works and it was something I really liked about Chrysler. It sort of reminds me of when cartoons are used on war planes.

I can’t recall the last time I spoke for more than 30 seconds. My wife on the other hand...

Yeah I dunno what’s going on with the site but I hate it. Constantly slowing down, broken/corrupted pages, and I know none of the other sites I have open are causing Firefox to use 3 gigs of memory. Not cool!

It’s too bad that garbage patch isn’t centered on some place like Long Beach. I’m pretty sure the cleanup effort would happen a lot faster.
