My worst mistake was the oil pump drive shaft missing the hole in the bottom of the distributor by —>| |<— this much in my brand new engine. Many thousands of dollars later I had a new engine to try again with.

I’ve done the timing belt a dozen or so times in the past year and 5k miles because fuck you INA. It doesn’t sound as bad as yours, but it’s definitely up there in pain in the ass timing belts.

It should always do that. Newer cars lower the volume of the radio while you’re reversing. I’m guessing it’s so you can hear better in case someone’s yelling at you to stop running over their dog.

Move the coil packs around one at a time. When the code indicates that the misfire is on a different cylinder, you’ve found it. You’ll also have your firing order!

I can vouch that ‘65 Mustangs use the single turn signal light too. It freaks passengers out ;-)
