I had the same problem with the first filter cap I bought. It was a millimeter or two too big so it would just spin if you applied any significant force. However, I think I lost it for a while so I ended up buying a new one that fits perfectly. Bring the filter you’re going to use with you to a few parts stores next

There’s nothing like rubbing one out to clear your head and come back with renewed patience and perspective. I don’t know how professionals do it.

It’s gotta be the day I learned the difference between foot pounds and inch pounds. Well technically it’s the day I discovered inch pounds existed and they sometimes include both on a parts diagram.

Anyone who says they haven’t done something like this is a damn liar. Or hasn’t worked on cars before.

I had a similar rant to myself this morning about major cities in general. The idea of cramming more people into a smaller area of land just makes absolutely no sense to me. I get that some companies need a physical presence next to major ports and such, but companies like Amazon just have no reason to be in the

Honestly this is why doing business with people that are too well dressed is a red flag for me. I don’t have F you money and I probably never will. When a guy is wearing an Armani suit, gold Rolex, and crocodile shoes I have to wonder where he got the frosting to afford that crap. It’s a sign that I’m going to be

Which is ironic because after their redesign they went straight into my “don’t-give-a-shit” bucket. More engine options are awesome but goddamn they’re ugly and anonymous now.

Got an AWD 2004 Volvo XC90 with a Haldex Gen. II system and wondered the same thing. Does Haldex control differential behavior though, or just engagement to a pair of wheels?

Take the hill at the same angle on the other side and you’re good to go, right? /s

Yeah I learned in something that I’m sure would qualify as a Monday Meh Car.

I can one-up that. There’s a driving school near me that uses Mustangs. These things worry me.

Pan is definitely the worst, microwave is a lot better, but oven baked is the absolute best way to go if you can wait. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a spin sometime.

or getting a job and being nice to women.

Yeah it came across as premeditated “watch me be funny”.

I’m guessing in a decade it’ll be available for a lot of cars, if not the new default for everyone.

The new Audi RS6 (I believe?) has the same setup as well. All I can think about is how much of a pain it’s gotta be to wrench on.

Excellent article. Need to keep it handy for when techs have to start wrangling new parts into these things and start yelling rhetorical questions about why things are in the spot that they’re in. Maybe also for the 2nd/3rd owners that end up having to foot some of the pricier repair bills.

Hey that’s me!!

Goddamn, it’s got to be a hell of a mind trip for that other driver. I mean, putting on a seatbelt is no one’s choice but your own, but still.
