To me the answer is obvious. The teams need to Abandon NASCAR. Think CART/IRL. Blow it up and let the France Mob sink with their irredeemable ship.

Hah, could you tell the Republicans? Start with Paul Ryan please.
Well, we RE-elected a man who’s clearly and repeatedly demonstrated his willingness to cheat, steal, and defraud absolutely everyone he can to enrich himself. And in the interim, he has started a number of shady business ventures (crypto, social media, NFTs, and the like) which he will now be in the position to regulat…
This is probably the most factually-correct joke-answer I’ve read in quite some time.
Crazy answer: A triple diesel engine pickup truck with a 6 inch lift installed at the factory. I mean, the EPA’s going to get a gut punch, too, so might as well make a FerdRamChev F-Teenthousand Denali with a 6.7 Power Stroke up front, a 6.6 Duramax in the middle, and a 6.7 Cummins bringing up the rear.
I could be on board. IMO there are just certain controls that should NEVER be screen exclusive. HVAC, Volume, wipers. People are already distracted enough behind the wheel we don’t need them trying to navigate screen menus because they want to turn the air up. If using your phone while driving is a distraction having…
As a tool for engine braking in hilly areas, I see a bit of merit. On the other hand, the sport mode in a Corolla hatch rental I used doing the fake shifts was horribly stupid when it could’ve just kept the revs closer to the power band at all times.
I think the artificial engine sounds are driven largely by EU noise regulations. There is only so much that can be done to have a quiet exhaust AND make it sound great.
I know i’m getting old, when I want The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to start getting involved in these manufacturers designs of interior controls. There shouldn’t be more than a few different ways to shift a cars transmission 🤣
Pumped in “engine” noises. I had it on my ‘19 GLI and it was truly obnoxious. The car was wonderful, but man I couldn’t have hit the turn off button(Thank God) fast enough. Why put the development effort into this instead of a nice exhaust?
Fake “gears” in a CVT.
“This article is the worst take in Jalopnik history.
Snarky, Brownell.
Times you will expose yourself in the station lot while getting out in a passenger side car when getting gas: Every time you get gas.
I would have preferred a slideshow.
I really love the Superbird tribute. Some people not in the know might get hung up on it being a Toyota, but Petty’s current NASCAR team Legacy MC drives Toyotas and Petty is famously not loyal to any make.
I think the only change I would have done is painted dark blue wheels instead of anodized and much bigger numbers…
At least you’ll have something to do while you wait for the engine replacement.
For Safety reasons, fuel door should be drivers side. Our vehicles programmed to not auto unlock the.doors. When my wife exits the door she does not walk around the car leaving driver door unlocked. Vehicle refueled on driver side near the driver door. Much harder to steal her purse or vehicle.
Not a pilot, but man I tell you what if ‘ol Sully had been there he would have landed that damned thing backwards, upside down in a tornado and not put a scratch on it, the hopped out and kissed a baby. LOL
Can’t wait for the non-pilots to have big opinions on this one!
