Three officers conspired to commit murder? Another day in American policing. They will be found to be completely lacking in responsibility for this as it was the suspect’s fault for being detained in the first place and the American police death penalty doesn’t care about the offense.

It is simple. Ford should have called it the Mach E. “The all new Mach E, with Mustang styling!” could have been the catch phrase.

you don’t have to pay for it.  if you don’t want it and they refuse to reduce the price, walk away.  pretty simple.  same thing applies to “destination charges” and every other goddam thing except tax and license.

Some sixties vintage personal luxury cruiser, like this Toronado.

Last year I bought one, a Platinum Reserve after looking at f150's and Toy’s- And I’ll tell you why- firstly, at that trim level (which falls somewhere between a Lariat and King Ranch in ford’s world) the 150's were about 8000 bucks more expensive than what I paid. And Ford’s don’t have a sterling reliability record.

I don’t know. Say you are following the classic 2 seconds, which is about 200 feet at highways speed. That van stopped and was going 0 mph almost instantly. Given say a 1/2 second to go to the brakes, means a vehicle would have to stop in around 150 feet from highway speed. That’s asking a lot.

Buy a new or used 4Runner: Problem Solved

Can’t he do both?

You don’t have to kill for it. You can just buy a 4Runner and get it painted or wrapped.

That’s why I referenced the per-capita stat, but Germany also has way fewer deaths per vehicle AND vehicle mile traveled anyway.

per capita normalizes for different populations.

The US has 300% more vehicle deaths per capita than Germany. How does Germany do that? Not with any of that BS you wrote about. They have strict licensing requirements and good transit infrastructure.

Define “should”. Should the 99% of people who don’t drive drunk be forced to blow into their car every time they need to go anywhere? Should I care if someone is too stupid to wear a seatbelt and gets themselves killed? Should we restrict everyone to exactly the same speed so there is no passing, no speed difference

Interesting, it reminds me of the old Cineplex Odeon logo:

While I’ll certainly agree that “personal luxury” cars of the ’70s are an, ahem, acquired taste, This is actually a pretty fine example of the breed. A big, floaty cruiser made to soak up the miles. It may not be equipped for broken-field running, but it’s equipped perfectly for broken-road cruising.

These big, soft, “floaty” cars were exactly what you needed during long trips on the freeways at the posted 55mph limit. Luxury is a soft ride and room to stretch out. It ain’t a sports car . . .

“We’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty.”

This is a truck I could easily sell for 19,999 at my dealership. I have a list of people to call whenever any regular cab shortbed Hemi of any trim level shows up, as long as I can keep em under whatever payment. These trucks are a rarity, and an absolute joy to buzz around in. A lot of people want more practicality
