First generation Souls are ugly on the outside, AMAZING on the inside, and drive incredibly well. It’s actually one of my favorite cars.

Going all-in on CVTs and continuing to use them even after they started failing at appalling rates certainly helped. Ford was smart enough to stop that. Hell, even Chrysler stopped using them. GM should just bring back Saturn as what they were before they were forced to sell re-badged crap. My 1994 Saturn SL-1 was the most reliable American car I’ve ever owned (100,000 miles and ZERO mechanical failures). Why was it so reliable? Better everything except the radio (which was the same as other GM products).

NP, I had several friends with these when I was in high school, and they’re incredibly hard to kill (one friend with a blue one was known to frequently use his to do his best Bo and Luke impression over the railroad tracks near the church).
