I know, right? This description alone makes this one of most anticipated films of 2016. The fact that DANIELS directed it makes me even more excited. They've made a lot of my favorite music videos recently, their style is like an even more bizarre / surreal Eric Wareheim.

Colbert's new web video responding to Jeb Bush's late show VIP ticket offer with a raffle of his own is pretty great, and exactly like something he would have done on the Report. Seems like he hasn't lost a step.

It seems "Space Song" has been overlooked by lots of reviewers/listeners, but it's the best song on the album for me. The "Fall. Back. In. To. Place." outro is drop-dead gorgeous. PPP is wonderful as well.

I believe that was Larry Mullen Senior's Son

The Supporting Actor in Drama Series is wrong, should be:

Zane Lowe plays a good amount of indie-alt rock / pop. Beach House, Tame Impala, Courtney Barnett, Jamie XX, Beck, Best Coast have all gotten tons of plays by him and I've been introduced to a bunch of not-as-well-known indie through his show too (like Bully, FIDLAR, Day Wave, Hinds)

I like Donald Glover and all but Hiro Murai's involvement is what has me excited for this. His music video work in the past year has been unbelievable. Flying Lotus "Never Catch Me", Chet Faker "Gold", Spoon "Do You", Childish Gambino "Sweatpants" + "Sober", all of them fantastic.

I hate smoking sections. Unless we're talking about "The Mask" with Jim Carrey, in which case the smoking section is my favorite part!

never thought of that before, interesting theory!

Claire gets on the plane at the end, Aaron left on the helicopter with Kate in S4.

It seemed to me the show always presented the visions as the absolute future (unless Desmond himself interfered). I can see the too many variables thing being the official explanation but it would have been nice if this was ever explained on the show.

I like this episode a lot but it also contains one of the most frustrating unanswered questions of the whole series. Desmond told Charlie he had a vision that Claire and Aaron would get on a rescue helicopter if he died. So why did that never happen?

I've actually done that before with Blur and about half of my list overlaps with your list. Your picks are good even though your understanding of how metacritic scores work isn't!

Actually, according to the Metacritic grading system, a 81 does mean "universal acclaim". 40-60 means "mixed or average reviews".

I think the writer is confusing AV Club being mixed on it in their review with the album having "mixed reviews". As you can see on metacritic, AVC were very much in the minority.

This is a great film. I always enjoyed this anecdote from the director about the infamous rape scene:

Agreed, I was looking through my letterboxd recently and was pretty shocked to see that out of 130 films I saw in 2014 only five were directed by women (all indie films & documentaries). Not sure what the solution is, but something needs to change.

I'm pretty sure the reviewer is saying he doesn't prefer the full band arrangement style of "Sagres", so if you like that one there's a good chance you'll like the rest of the album too. For what it's worth, I think the album is great.

+1 to Majesty Snowbird. I've been hoping for a studio version too for a long time. "I Am Santa's Helper" from Silver & Gold uses the melody in the background vocals at least.
