FYI, my 'select your music' email came about 50 minutes after the confirmation email.

I just did my confirmation, and the webpage that pops up says "BOOM! Let the beats commence! Please look out for a super important email that contains a link for you to complete a Listener Profile. Thanks again!"

Try clicking the submit button again. I had the same issue, and that worked for me.

It may come as a separate email than your confirmation one. I signed up a while back to test it out, but they may have changed things between when I signed up and now.

When you get your confirmation email, you'll get a link to a survey to fill out with your music preferences. :)

They're probably getting a solid influx right now, and it's probably just a poorly worded error message. :) Give it a little time and come back to them later.
