I always liked them - sporty enough for my taste and a very clean design language. Original TSX was good, first TL was not bad, I loved the first RDX turbo...this refresh is super generic.

It is very generic now - take the A from the front and that grill can be a Buick, Kia, Hyundai etc...Beak was not bad - the color was. I saw some Acuras with the chrome part of the beak painted in body color, and it looked good.

There are tons of cars with the trim in black. Many cheap cars have it in black. It just boggles my mind that it would cost $60 per car to do it.

Based on what? GTI 3 door in GB costs more in pounds than it costs here in dollars. You simply can’t make those pound for dollar calculations when you talk cart MSRPs.

But, why? They paint all the hoods for example - why can’t they just paint pieces of trim before they are installed? Those are not a part of the door, right? Why does the pain stick to the hood, but not to the trim?

I am not sure I understand how it can add $60? On my old Tundra, the black paint has peeled off of those strips, and it is chrome underneath. I presume they had black for the base model and chrome for higher up models, but anyway you look at it, they were just shinny strips painted black. Why can’t these be painted as…

I really didn’t. If a car is not cool because a regular Joe can go and rent it and smoke people, why is another car from 40+ years ago cool when it was basically the same thing?

And any person could not rent a Hertz Shelby, turn the key and fry anything on the road with 0 automotive knowledge 40+ years ago?

I know that changes don’t happen fast. But I don’t really see what was done with VW USA that was righting the ship in the last 2 years.

Agreed - they managed to existing in that small niche between mass market and premium cars, and then they just went down to match Toyota and GM sales numbers. Very bad decision.
