Jake - Has Bad Luck So You Don't Have To

I work in IT, and whoever wrote this is an idiot.

I keep my visor up 90% of the time because I’m in town doing <45 and I want to be able to more clearly hear my surroundings at slow speeds.

Boy, you better not be calling Koss PortaPros/SportaPros/anything with those drivers “tinny” 😉

I rode a Grom with a 300cc water cooled Honda single swapped into it. It was fantastic. Not “fast”, maybe “quick”, but no longer painfully slow. it felt just like how the Grom should have come from the factory.

I still just... hate these. So much. Mediocre value new, and an absurdly poor value used. Do you want a Honda Grom, which can’t do highway speeds, is a bit like riding on an overturned paint bucket, and is only good for low-speed parking lot wheelies? Or a lightly used SV650 which is the Best Bike Ever Made (tm)

In highschool I drove a 240k mile ‘00 LeSabre. A while later I had a 260k mile ‘97 Riviera. I’ve also had a 220k mile ‘98 LS400 and now an 120k mile ‘02 IS300.

I’d take either Buick over the Lexus’ 10/10 times for a daily driver. Want XYZ interior trim piece? LKQ probably has 15. Want coilovers? Sway bars? Chassis

Might I direct you to ZZPerformance? Being a W body, this has even more mods available for it than its larger G/H/K body cousins like the Park Avenue, Riviera, and LeSabre.

If there’s one thing Porsche has truly nailed its the sound the doors make when they close in their older stuff

Tyler Hoover’s was still under the warranty period and was on its third transmission and second engine IIRC

Because Porsche’s have a reputation for being, by far, the best built and most reliable in their class. Drive a 996 with 100k miles and then try to find an R8 or McLaren with the same miles. The 996 will be drum tight and the R8 and McLaren will have bits falling off the interior.

The more experience I get with

My mom had one of these, got rid of it when she had me. She deserves another one.

Blue book is hilariously off the mark on difficult to find enthusiast cars. A-spec TLs aren’t particularly rare, but 6MT TLs are, and 6MT A-specs are incredibly difficult to find, especially in this sort of condition. I’d say this car is overpriced but not as bad as KBB would have you think. At $10k or thereabouts it

Been looking forward to this review for a while. Looks like it was a heck of a time. It’s a shame this bike just can’t make the argument against the used market. I’d feel like a damn fool paying 7 large for this when $3k will get you a screaming nice SV650 which has equally comfy ergos and far more power with super

+1 to this. The most modern car you can buy that still has the “light and tossable” quality of 90s-era Hondas.

Previous generation Honda Fit Sport with a stick is the absolute best bang for the buck in 4 door practical fun.

Cool bonus: there’s a hilariously easy to install module that will add bluetooth audio to the factory radio, which is removed with a single screw. Absolute joy to work on, joy to drive, and unreasonably

That lead picture makes me think the car needs a facelift. Like, literally. The face needs lifted. Why is the nose so droopy?

I wear my clicky obnoxious keyboard as a badge of pride

These are great cars. Super fun, adequate power, extremely controllable and easy to get sideways.

But... for the money I’d get an Ecoboost Mustang. More practical, nicer interior, better grand tourer, you can tune the Ecoboost (and retain your warranty!) to absolutely embarass the 3.8 V6. Downsides are slightly worse

Oh, hey! I have two of those! The community is (was?) pretty involved, even making stuff like a serial-attached SD card reader called a NADSBox (New Age Digital Storage Box..   for your nads) and an addon ROM that is actually a flash storage that lets you switch between several virtualized ROM spaces, so you can
