The “ten year plan” was a lawsuit leak before it was a marketing bullet point. But the weird thing I discovered when trying to find that original leak, is that it did of course become a marketing bullet point, but later was something they claimed to have never said, presumably to fend off criticism of the game.

When Nintendo followed up the NES controllers for Switch with SNES controllers, I foolishly dreamt we’d eventually get GameCube controllers for Switch* to coincide with the addition of GameCube games to the online service. Oh well, I still give them credit for patching GameCube controller support into Super Mario

Justice for Peter’s face

The reduced stature better fits Peter NuFace, which Zack correctly identifies as inferior.

one of the few superheroes to not be completely hollowed out and turned to dust by the last two decades of market over saturation”

This is the distinction between a remaster and remake, in my book. I’d classify a lot of what get called remasters as remakes - THPS 1 + 2, for example.

Ugggh those Iron Spider-Arms. I hate Big Tech Bootlicker Movie Synergy Spider-Man. But I’ll still play that garbage

Is this the first time we've officially seen the bottom of that hilt? It's just off frame in the movie, I was always curious just how staff-like it would be. (According to this: not particularly!)

Pendleton “hrrmm g*m*rg*te hrmmm, can’t everyone just get along” Ward

I’d say Wolverine gets a pass on the basis that he was keeping this kind of company during the original Midnight Sons era (though as others have pointed out, he tends to keep all kinds of company because he’s the best there is at boosting sales).

The big news here is the classic HUD coming back to Halo

Oh I see, a misread of the polygon article.

Elden Ring also feature items like jump pads, similar to those found in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.”

Jodorowsky and El Topo certainly are normal and uncomplicated “I’ve seen movies” references to casually drop into your video game review, well done.

Weren’t the PS4 and Xbox One X ports supposed to be pretty bad, if not broken in places? I’m curious as to whether any of that’s been addressed. I guess they can’t really come out and say “don’t worry, it won’t be like those busted versions we’re still selling”.

I will never game again

We already knew they’d be newer-looking than the originals (obviously). But these aren’t just pixel-for-pixel remakes.” Just? Being “newer-looking” means they *aren’t* pixel-for-pixel remakes at all, surely.

There’s something that just feels a little gross about this now being the second time Fortnite has incorporated the mechanics of a surprise viral hit from a smaller developer. And this time it’s not even an FPS!

I thought it was very funny this didn't get a mention in the article.

Sorry to everyone upset about the Bluepoint remark - like what you like, of course, I’m just comparing the tendency in their remakes and this mod to prioritise an increase in fidelity while overlooking substantive aesthetic changes ✌
