The US throws tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber just about every other year despite NAFTA and the WTO ruling in Canada’s favour every time.

Where I work, everyone got pay cut due to the tariffs. It was later restored with the CEO basically telling everyone that they were able to offer “raises” that year. It just got us back to where we were 3 years prior.

I took what amounted to a pay cut from his last tariff adventure, since my company decided not to pass the whole amount on to our customers.  My comission is calculated on profit dollars, and thus my pay was about 12% less than it would have been if the stupid moron tariffs hadn’t gone into place.

How many car parts are actually manufactured in US? I would bet a very insignificant number. And those companies won’t move…
