I think we both probably have the rewriting issue halfway wrong: I definitely did not say that punch ups get you screenwriting credit, but there is still an incentive to change things that don’t need to be changed to get your name on it.

I think I heard that when Ed Norton was dating Salma Hayek he did an entire rewrite of “Frida” uncredited and for free. Also one of the rules is or was that you get script attribution if you have written some percentage of the script, so that incentivizes rewriters to rewrite what need not be rewritten. Many scripts…
But if it were any of the Star Wars Prequel cast rebuking that writing; people would be cheering and calling for a parade. There has been so much shit made of Ortega’s comments that isn’t justified.
Bullshit. When Robert Downey Jr and Tom Holland improv entire scenes as Iron Man and Spider-Man, they are considered sooper-geniuses.
This girl does it and she’s mocked by the mediocre.
And let’s be real: it was the acting that saved Wednesday. The writing, the whole arc for the season, was warmed over Harry Potter with some token queerbaiting for topicality (I’m still angry at how they misuse the concept of conversion therapy in a subplot). What made it all tolerable was the cast - Ortega, Emma…
Beyond the mean-spiritedness, it’s stupid. Their real enemy is the corporation, not some 20-year-old who dared to question the shit these clowns expected to come out of her mouth.
What a bunch of thin-skinned babies. I support their cause, but the idea that the script for a Netflix Addams Family revival is so sacrosanct that the star should be shamed for altering it is stupid. Writers are important, but bad writing exists.
That seems like mean spirited punching down, the girl’s like 20 years old give me a break.
Hobby Lobby and CFA are national chains that make a big deal about being closed (to customers) on Sundays while making their employees work those days. Out front there’s big signage about being closed on The Lord’s Day™ but inside the business, Sabbath Schmabbath, there’s work to be done by minimum wage workers with…
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates -Exodus 20:10
At a minimum, they should have had like alternating restaurants. Rest Area 1, CFA. Rest Area 2, something else (McD’s, BK, etc.). Rest Area 3, back to CFA. At least that way, you know that there would be SOME kind of option.
As someone that has lived in numerous parts of the NY state all of my life from my hometown in central/capital district, going to school in Buffalo and currently residing in NYC all I can say that this is a pretty stupid move. Especially just for some mediocre fast food chicken.
I believe CFA is #3 in terms of locations (KFC #1, by far; Popeyes #2, by a bit).
While I’m loath to encourage any coverage of the Jesus chicken hucksters, I do like how these columns bring the so-called Christians out into the open.
They absolutely should not have been considered for a Thruway rest area option without being open 7 days a week.
Also Rule of Law only applies to other people, never the right winger.
Freedom of speech only applies if they agree with what is being spoken.
These are the same people who think a corporation’s right to free speech doesn’t extend to ad campaigns or press releases supporting diversity and decrying discrimination.
Sinner! Sinner! Chicken Dinner! (But not on Sundays).
Seriously, someone dropped the ball in vetting this one. Not only does their chicken suck, but they don’t fulfill the basic needs of being open when the rest center is.
